Welcome to Westover Hills

Located directly south of the James River across the Nickel Bridge from Byrd Park, the Carillon and Maymont, Westover Hills was developed as one of the first "commuter neighborhoods" just beyond the end of the Richmond trolley line. The developer even built the Nickel Bridge (officially, the Boulevard Bridge") as an incentive to homebuyers--each owner got a free pass to mount on their auto, everyone else paid a nickel.

Today, homes in Westover Hills tend to sell in mere days - just a fraction of the "Days on Market" metric for Richmond as a whole. And the price-per-foot has crept up well past $300 among the smaller and more recently renovated homes.

Westover Hills is home to a number of well-established restaurants and businesses and stretches from the CSX railroad on its western border (where it crosses the landmark rail bridge over the river) to Cedar Lane on the east. Forest Hill Park and the famous Southside Farmer's Market are just a few blocks further east. The neighborhood offers a number of houses with river views, as well as a variety of trails within the James River Park System.
